

About the District: Hojai district is located in central Assam and covers an area of about 1,685 Sq. Km. It is bounded by Nagaon district to the north, East Karbi Anglong district to the east and Dima Hasao and West Karbi Anglong district to the south with major rivers such as the Kapili and Jamuna shaping its physical and agrarian landscape. As per the 2011 Census, the district has a population of over nine lakhs and includes three Assembly constituencies—Binnakandi, Hojai and Lumding.
